Hermon Baptist Church

Community Christmas celebration is planned for Dec. 2 with a community choir Christmas music service at 6 p.m.

Choirs from Corinth, Hermon, Walkersville, and Waxhaw Baptist will share their music.

Langford Chapel CME Church

"If I Don't Praise Him, the Rocks Are Going to Cry Out," a musical praise worship and encouragement experience will be presented at 4 p.m. Dec. 2. The praise, worship and men's choir is under the direction of Jairus E. Poston. Call 704-283-2657 for more information.

Mount Carmel United Methodist Church

An outdoor nativity is planned for Dec. 9 at 6:30 p.m. at the church at 1712 Carmel Church Road, Monroe. Hot drinks and cookies will be served.

Shiloh Advent Christian Church

A day of sharing is planned for Dec. 1 from 8 a.m. to noon. Everything is free. Items include clothing for all ages, toys, household items.

Union Baptist Church

The Heart Sisters have published  “GIVE THANKS UNTO THE LORD, II” Cookbook, to benefit upcoming outreach and missions for 2013.  Union Baptist church members, family and friends have contributed over 300 tried and true recipes in this second edition that will be treasured for generations to come.  The cost is $20.00 per book.  All recipes include complete nutritional information and will be excellent Christmas gifts.  To order by mail, send a check for $23.00 to Union Baptist Church, 4312 Old Pageland Monroe Road, Monroe, NC   28112. 

The church-wide Christmas party and dinner will be Sunday evening, Dec. 2, from 5 to 8 p.m..    Everyone is asked to bring a small gift for a gift exchange game.  This is optional and can be home-made, or a re-gift, but not to exceed $10. We will be serving Chicken and Dumplings, and all the fixin's.  All church members, family, and friends, young and old alike, are invited to come for a casual evening of food and fun.

Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church

Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church will hold its annual Christmas program on Dec. 23 at 5 p.m. with refreshments and gift exchange to follow.  The church will be joined by Antioch United Methodist Church to go caroling on Sunday, Dec. 16 for shut ins.  The church is a sponsor of Extreme Extremities Sock and Glove collection to be distributed through several local agencies to the needy.  Donations will be accepted thru Dec. 7.  The church has begun its back pack program for school children.  Donations are now being accepted.  If you have any questions, please contact Pastor Greg at 704-201-9009.
