Inn at Rosehill offers equestrian theme

A few years after opening a stables and riding area for horses, Janice Smith has now added an inn to the business.

The Inn at Rosehill opened the beginning of September at 6623 Prospect Road in Monroe.

The inn is located not far from the stables and riding area, which visitors have a large view of from their rooms.

The inn is a 7,000-square-foot bed and breakfast and has 3,000 square feet of wraparound porches.

“I think business is going to be very good. October is going to be very busy,” Smith said in reference to business since the inn opened.

On Oct. 1, the Union County Chamber of Commerce will host an open house and ribbon cutting at the facility.

The Inn at Rosehill features five guest suites with windows overlooking the 52 acres of property it and the Rosehill Stables sits on. The entire inn is equestrian themed with many different equestrian-related artworks and other equestria- related decorations throughout it.  The inn has an upstairs and downstairs area and includes an exercise room, walking/jogging trails, billiard table, library nook, wrap-around porches and access to the business’ stables. Each guest suite features a private bath and French doors that open to the veranda or terrace. The inn is special needs accessible and offers a full gourmet breakfast that is included with guests’ stay.

She eventually hopes to expand the business but for now is looking forward to continue running the newly built inn and the stables, Smith said.

“The people that we have here are phenomenal. It’s like a big family and I like horses,” she said in reference to her staff that helps her operate the business.

Janie Smith, the program director at Inn at Rosehill & Rosehill Stables, said she is glad to see the inn now open and encourages people to plan a visit.

“I think it’s fabulous, anyone who comes here is going to enjoy their time,” she said.

In addition to individual stays, The Inn at Rosehill & Rosehill Stables is available for weddings, showers, rehearsal dinners, family reunions, birthday parties, executive retreats, meetings and other activities.

An upcoming event scheduled at the business is Carolina Equine Rescue & Assistance’s “For the Horse” Benefit on Oct. 5 from 5 p.m.- 9 p.m. From Oct. 8 to Oct. 11, Dr. Gerd Heuschman, an international speaker and author, who is a world-renowned expert on biomechanics of the horse, will be available at the inn and stables for training days.
