Waxhaw mom wins Justin Bieber concert tickets
Waxhaw resident Mollie Engle won four tickets to the sold out Justin Bieber concert on Jan. 22 at the Time Warner Cable Arena.
The drawing was sponsored by the Carolina Place Mall and Radio Disney.
Engle will be attending the concert with her seven-year-old daughter and two of her friends.
"My daughter loves Justin Bieber," Engle said. "I think it will be fun. It will be exciting."
She did not try to buy tickets to the concert originally, but entered to win them when she saw information at the information desk in the mall.
Her daughter, Lily, was thrilled by the news.
"She was really excited," Engle said. "(She was) just smiling and happy."
"She's liked him for about a year now," Engle said. "She's only seven, so she just started getting into music and stuff."
Engle suspects her "Bieber fever" is fueled by her friends and siblings.
"She has an older brother and sister," Engle said. "So she hears it on the radio and she kind of listens to what they listen to."
Her two friends were screaming when they heard they would be joining her.
Engle joked that she might need to get ear plugs for the concert due to all the screaming girls.
"We're really excited and it was really nice of them to do the contest and give us the tickets," Engle said.
Justin Bieber is an 18-year-old Canadian pop singer. His career started in 2008 when a talent manager found his videos on the website YouTube.
