For anyone looking for a fun, energetic dog, Promise is a promising pet prospect.
The adult mixed breed is spayed and up-to-date on her shots. She is the quintessential small brown dog. She was surrendered by her previous owner and has been at the shelter for about a week.
Promise is full of energy. She loves to jump and run. She also enjoys attention and will lean into you as you pet her. She would do well with a large yard to romp in.
Holly is a reserved, sweet adult grey tabby. She is up-to-date on her shots and has been in the shelter about a week.
Holly was a stray cat who was found in the kennels at Waxhaw Animal Hospital. She enjoys being picked up and being pet. She is curious about her surroundings and likes to explore.
Anyone looking for a pet guinea pig is in luck. There is a nice, young guinea pig available for adoption at the shelter. The guinea pig does not have a name, it is nice, but a little bit scared in its new environment.
The shelter will be closed Monday, Jan. 21 for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. It will reopen on Tuesday.
The fee for adopting a dog or a cat is $85. The fee includes first shots, deworming, a heartworm check, rabies shots, spaying or neutering and a one time “well check” vet visit.
The shelter is on 3340 Presson Road in Monroe. The phone number is 704-283-8303. Adoption hours are Monday through Friday from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.
