The Adoptables

Patches, a female pointer mix, is hoping for a family for Christmas.

She, like most hunting dogs, has a lot of energy and loves playing with toys. She is intelligent and will do best with early obedience training and a place to channel her energy.

She is not spayed yet, though that is included in the adoption fee. She is between four and 12 months old, up-to-date on her shots and has been at the shelter for a few weeks.

She is very playful and friendly. She enjoys a nice cuddle and a game of tug-of-war.

Hugo, the playful and goofy shepherd mix, is also still waiting for his family at the shelter.

Lexie and Lacey are two sweet balls of calico fluff waiting for a family. The kittens are spayed females, with longer, calico fur. They were surrendered by their original owner and have been at the shelter for about a month.

Though they are shy at first, the kittens enjoy attention. They are up-to-date on their shots.

Cheeze, Puff and Paisley are also still at the shelter waiting for their families.

The fee for adopting a dog or a cat is $85. The fee includes first shots, deworming, a heartworm check, rabies shots, spaying or neutering and a one time "well check" vet visit.

The shelter is on 3340 Presson Road in Monroe. The phone number is 704-283-8303. Adoption hours are Monday through Friday from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.
