The Adoptables

Rocky is quite the athlete. He would have no problem running up the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

This male Boxer was surrendered by his owner and has been at the shelter for a little more than a week. He is not neutered, though that is included in the adoption fee, and is up-to-date on his shots.

He is a very playful guy with a lot of energy. He enjoys chasing toys. He will do best with an active family, preferably with a backyard. Boxers are athletic dogs who crave attention and tend to do well with families, according to the American Kennel Club.

Rocky is a sweet boy and very affectionate.

Jett is as mischievous of a kitten as you could hope for. This domestic short-haired kitten is neutered and up-to-date on his shots. He was picked up as a stray and has been at the shelter for more than a week.

He enjoys exploring and is very playful. He will do best in an environment with toys and a scratching post.

Boots, Jett's roommate, is equally curious and playful. He is neutered, up-to-date on his shots and has been at the shelter for more than a week. He was also picked up as a stray.

Boots is very sweet and affectionate. He loves to play and will also do well with a lot of toys and a scratching post.

The fee for adopting a dog or a cat is $85. The fee includes first shots, deworming, a heartworm check, rabies shots, spaying or neutering and a one time "well check" vet visit.

The shelter is on 3340 Presson Road in Monroe. The phone number is 704-283-8303. Adoption hours are Monday through Friday from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.
