Last week’s Showcase of the Charlotte Woodcarvers was a great success. The next meeting, this coming Tuesday, February 26th, will include the display of the ribbon winners’ carvings.

Wilma Conder of Monroe will celebrate her 90th birthday on Feb. 26, 2013 with friends and family.

The Union County Community Arts Council is holding the first of two annual fundraisers Saturday, March 2nd at the Ag Center. The Night For The Arts will feature “Party On the Moon, a great dance band that performs at Presidential parties, Donald Trump, and the like. Gettin’ down with motown, & rockin’ the night away. All the festivities begin at 6:30-8:30 pm for dinner and open bar. Concert and dancing begins at 8 p.m. Tickets are $110 per person. The Arts Council funds and organizes many local art related activities, as well as supporting the arts in each of the 52 Union County Schools.
