It’s a social plus to be a good conversationalist. It’s not a plus if the conversationalist dominates all the talk at a seated dinner party, or any event, whether seated or not.           

 The motel owner insisted upon pressing charges against all three. He also owned the property where the Monroe house party was and which had been trashed by an NC State fraternity earlier. He wanted to set an example for all college students that such behavior would not be tolerated. We informed him that we were merely high school graduates. He was not amused and wanted his tree back!!

January is coming to an end. Statistics indicate we’ve all broken our New Year’s resolutions by now. Pathetic. I sometimes wonder why I make them in the first place.

Kelly Hook, daughter of Diane and Larry, recently went to San Francisco, as she was hired by Prezi, a most innovative organization. Kelly hardly had time to unpack when the company informed her she had her first assignment in Budapest, Hungary.
