Hugo is ready for a home for the holidays.

The adult male was surrendered by his original owner and has been at the shelter for a couple of weeks. He is a shepherd mix and possibly has some Black Mouth Cur in his breeding.

He is bouncy, friendly and playful. He enjoys playing fetch and will do best with a lot of space and an active lifestyle. He is a goofy sweetheart who will give his owners a lot of affection.

He is up-to-date on his shots and is not neutered, but that procedure is included in the adoption fee.

Shooter, a Labrador mix is still at the shelter waiting for a new family.

Cheeze is ready for his close-up. This orange and white kitten is very sweet and playful. He loves to cuddle and be held. His purr will fill the entire room.

Cheeze is about four months old and neutered. He is up-to-date on his shots. He was surrendered by his previous owner and has been at the shelter for about a week.

The shelter will be closed from Thursday, Nov. 22 through Sunday, Nov. 25 for the Thanksgiving holiday.

The fee for adopting a dog or a cat is $85. The fee includes first shots, deworming, a heartworm check, rabies shots, spaying or neutering and a one time "well check" vet visit.

The shelter is on 3340 Presson Road in Monroe. The phone number is 704-283-8303. Adoption hours are Monday through Friday from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.
