Rosealene is as sweet as she is striking.
This year-old Catahoula Leopard Dog mix is waiting for a family to play with at the Union County Animal Shelter.
She is up-to-date on her shots, was surrendered by her original owner and has been at the shelter for about a week.
Catahoulas originated in Louisiana, around the Catahoula Lake region. They are working dogs that excel at hunting, herding and other outdoor activities.
Rosealene loves to play and chase toys, but will take time out from a romp to be petted or snuggle up next to you. She will do best in an active family, perhaps with a yard.
Tango is waiting for someone to dance with him.
This sweet orange and white domestic short-haired cat is about a year old. He was picked up as a stray and has been at the shelter for about a week. He is up-to-date on his shots.
Tango is quiet and craves attention. He is very sweet and likes to be held. He will cuddle next to you and let his purr fill the room.
The fee for adopting a dog or a cat is $85. The fee includes first shots, deworming, a heartworm check, rabies shots, spaying or neutering and a one time “well check” vet visit.
The shelter is on 3340 Presson Road in Monroe. The phone number is 704-283-8303. Adoption hours are Monday through Friday from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.
