Tower Techs

Good Steward Ministries, a non-profit entity with a retail store in Marshville and Monroe, accepts and resells donated items to benefit numerous local charities and community assistance programs.

Wreaths across America

Sarah Griffin, of Monroe, wipes away a tear as she places a wreath on the grave of Boyd Griffin, the man she married in 1950, but lost to an early death in 1976, just before his 49th birthday. Though she visits and tends to his grave often, and Saturday's Wreaths across America memorial service was the first for her, she stated it definitely would be a regular annual event for her in the future. A total of 1000 wreaths were provided to be placed at several cemeteries. 500 wreaths were provided by US Airways for Lakeland Memorial Park on Lancaster Ave.

Thumper's Holiday Charity Run

Dozens of bikers from various regional clubs gathered at Iron Horse Motorcycles Saturday to participate in the 5th annual toy run to benefit Turning Point and victims of domestic violence. Saturday's event marked the 6th annual event for Carolinas Motorcycle Organizations United (CMOU). More info can be found on the groups website:
