An unnamed victim received serious injuries after a domestic violence assault Tuesday morning.
The Union County Sheriff's Office was called to an assault at a home in the 6600 block of Sturdivant Landing Drive, off Highway 601 south of Wingate.
"When deputies arrived, they found the victim and she was able to communicate with them," UCSO Capt. Ronnie Whitaker said.
The UCSO will not release the woman's name until her family is informed of the assault.
Whitaker would not say if the woman was stabbed, but did say that a knife was used in the assault. Her injuries were serious enough to prompt airlifting her to Carolinas Medical Center - Main for treatment.
"Were able to broadcast a message to be on the lookout for a man who fled the scene, Thomas Neeley," Whitaker said. "Law enforcement found him in South Carolina and arrested him. The Rock Hill Police Department located him at about 10 this morning."
Children lived in the house with the couple, but Whitaker said they are now in a safe place.
Hospital staff have not informed the UCSO to the woman's condition, Whitaker said.
