Monroe police are searching for two men in connection with a kidnapping early Wednesday morning.

A woman was kidnapped from the Nottingham Apartment Complex parking lot Wednesday as she exited her vehicle. The victim was also robbed and sexually assaulted but released unharmed, according to a statement from the Monroe Police Department.

The suspects police are looking for are described as two black men in their 20s. One of the men was said to be 5 feet, 10 inches tall, slim, with short hair and a tattoo on the inside of his right forearm of praying hands with rays of Heaven. The other suspect is also described as slim, but is said to be 5 feet, 7 inches tall with short hair. The suspects were driving a 1997-2001 model Ford Explorer, according to the statement.

"We are looking at the possibility she was followed from Charlotte," Detective Morgan Malone of the Monroe Police Department said.

After the woman was kidnapped, she was taken to the Sunoco on Dickerson Boulevard where the suspects attempted to use her credit card. They were unsuccessful in doing so and later took the woman to the Wells Fargo on the same street where they were successful in using the card, Malone said.

Monroe police request anyone with information about the incident to contact Union County Crime Stoppers at 704-283-5600. A reward of up to $1,000 may be offered, according to the statement.
