Group aims to deliver 700 turkeys for Thanksgiving

Indian Trail-based food pantry Common Cupboard, a branch of local nonprofit Common Heart, has begun collecting turkeys and other groceries this week for its Seventh Annual Great Turkey Countdown.

United Way boosts critical food aid by $200,000

United Way is giving $200,000 in Critical Need Response Fund grants to Second Harvest and Loaves & Fishes to help with hunger issues ahead of the difficult winter months. Second Harvest will receive $170,000 and Loaves and Fishes will receive $30,000.
