Library cards turns readers into superheroes

Feb. 18, 2014 @ 04:54 PM

On Saturday, March 1 from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m., the Union County Public Library will begin offering its new Superhero Library Card to the public at the Monroe Library.

As its name indicates, the Superhero card also has “superpowers.” The card will allow patrons to check out 40 items instead of only 35, place five items on hold, and will allow for one extra day of grace before overdue charges are applied on late items. The card will cost $3, but will be available for free during the two-hour roll-out.

The card’s designer, Al Bigley will also be on hand from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. to sign the cards.
