Fourth of July around Union County
The Fourth of July is Thursday and throughout Union County, parades and other celebrations have been scheduled for the holiday.
Historic Downtown Waxhaw July 4th Celebration
10 a.m. Parade
4:30 p.m.- 8:30 p.m. Beach Party
Fireworks at Sunset
The event will feature performances by Aletha Jacobs, J. Edwards, Ricky Godfrey and Groove Lubers as well as a 24 -foot Tidal Wave Water Park, surf simulator, extreme water obstacle course, a 16-foot Ocean Slide, Palm Tree Moon Bounce, Sand Fun and other activities. There will also be ice cream, hot dogs and other food available at the event.
Downtown Indian Trail Fourth of July
9:30 a.m. Festivities begin in front of the Cultural Arts Center
9:45 a.m. Flag Raising
10:30 a.m. Watermelon Eating Contest
11:30 a.m. Parade begins
At the parade this year, Indian Trail will have the first school bell used at Indian Trail School as its grand marshal.
Monroe’s July 4th Celebration at Belk-Tonawanda Park
4:30 p.m. Rides and concessions open
7 p.m.- 9:30 p.m. Tim Clark Band performs
9:30 p.m. Fireworks display begins
Unionville 53rd Annual Fourth of July Celebration
The event is being sponsored by the Unionville Lions Club and will feature food, rides, games and music.
Chicken barbecue will be served at 11 a.m. The cost is $8 a plate and you can choose to either eat in or take out.
