For Motley, it's a grave job
Fred Motley spends most days working among hundreds of people, and though they're not on speaking terms, Motley is very comfortable with their company and strives to do his best work for them. In fact, for some, their very identity relies on the craftsmanship and care Motley brings to the job site. He's cleaning and restoring their grave markers.
Shiloh Baptist Church recently contracted with Motley to spruce up the cemetery behind the church on Rocky River Road. Tackling structural issues first, Motley brought in help for the heavy task of leveling and shoring up more than 100 head stones before settling in on his solo mission of tediously cleaning more than twice that number, many dating back to late 1800's and early 1900's.
