Horse gets new lease on life
A young, bay gelding that was rescued from Marshville in October is well on the way to recovery. Tripp, who was named after Tripp Willis with Union County Sheriff's Office Department of Animal Services, was featured over the weekend in a rescue horse makeover event at Latta Plantation farm. Trainers Dawn Roth and Bekah Koutsos were on hand to show a natural horsemanship approach, using Tripp as an example. Tripp was discovered in a paddock severely dehydrated and malnourished. He was released to the Central Piedmont Region of the U.S. Equine Rescue League and has been under the care of volunteer Babette Crofford.
