Rabies confirmed in county dog

Health Officials at the Union County Division of Public Health say a dog in the area of Mullis Newsome Road and New Salem Road is confirmed to have rabies.  The dog, a brown/white, female Husky, presented with neurological symptoms consistent with rabies and died the next day.

Salsarita's to help Turning Point Tuesday

The Monroe Salsarita’s, located at 3173 W. Hwy 74, will hold their third annual fundraising event on March 31 to benefit Turning Point, a Monroe-based charity that provides shelter for domestic violence victims in Charlotte and other surrounding counties. The restaurant will donate 100 percent of the proceeds raised from the Donation Day to Turning Point.
