Deloris Estelle Covington Culbreath, 57, of Brunswick, Ga., formerly of Monroe, died November 28, 2012.
Funeral Services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012 at Holy Band Inspiration Deliverance Church in Brunswick, Ga. Funeral services will be held in Monroe, NC at a later date.
Arrangements are being handled by Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
Helen Black Hartley, 60, died Thursday, December 6, 2012 at Springs Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012 at The Chapel of Hartley – Burgess Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012 at Hartley-Burgess Funeral Home in Lancaster, S.C.
Robert Gene Matheson, 62, died Thursday, December 6, 2012. Gene was born in Union County, N.C., August 18, 1950 son of Margaret Matheson Conner of Monroe, N.C. and the late Joseph Benjamin Matheson. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 9, 2012 at 2 p.m. in the Gordon Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park.
Mr. Matheson is survived by his wife, Marlene Eason Matheson; mother, Margaret Matheson Conner of Monroe; son, Jonathan Samuel Matheson of Gastonia, N.C.; brother, Joseph B. “Butch” Matheson of Wingate, N.C.; sisters, Pam Mullis and Brenda Starnes, both of Monroe, N.C.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 12:30 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112.

Marvin Rowell, 93, of Monroe died Friday, December 7, 2012 at Autumn Care of Marshville.
Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Good Shepherd Funeral Home, Indian Trail.
Mr. Richard Dale Schill, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 5, 2012. He died at home, surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church Indian Trail. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn East Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Saturday at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 6525 Old Monroe Road, Indian Trail.
Richard was born October 8, 1933 in Adrian, Mich. to the late Arthur and Iva Schill. He married his high school sweetheart, Joan Everingham, on October 5, 1952. He served four years in the U. S. Air Force. Richard began working for the Kroger Company at the age of 14 and retired as an executive vice president after 40 years of dedicated service. He was a loving father to his four children. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by a sister, Leota Sherman; son-in-law, David Dwyer and by his great-grandson, Andrew Robinson.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Joan; children, Terri Autry (Chelsea) of Indian Trail, Becky Purcell (Gene) of Gothenburg, Neb., Robert Schill (Angela) of Unionville and James Schill (Deanna) of Fort Mill, S.C.; sister, Nancy Ann Smith of Adrian, Mich.; 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Lois Edwards Smith, 87, died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012 at Hospice of Union County in Monroe.
Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec.r 9, 2012 in the Leavitt Funeral Home chapel. Interment will follow in Anson Memorial Park. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
