Mrs. Doris Lee Billingsley, age 87, of Monroe, North Carolina, passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2013, at her residence.
Funeral Services to celebrate her life will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 30, 2013, at Davis Funeral Chapel, officiated by Reverend Frank Crump.
Interment will follow at Lakeland Memorial Park.
Mrs. Billingsley was born on April 16, 1926, a daughter of the late Warren Clyde Yandle and Lillie Mae Wilkerson Yandle.
She was married to the late Oscar Lee Billingsley who passed away October 19, 2013, after 66 years of marriage. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Harry Thomas Yandle, Samuel Locke Yandle, Warren Clyde Yandle, Jr., and Clyde Vann Yandle; and two sisters, Helen Brown and Willie Faye Helms.
Doris was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grand-mother.
Survivors include her three daughters, Nina Hedgepath and husband Kenneth of Monroe; Teresa Broome and husband Scott of Charlotte, Mary Milton and husband Steve, of Wingate; one grandson, Scott Hedgepath and wife, Nayda, of Michigan; three granddaughters, Kelly Hedgepath of Matthews, Lindsey Arant and husband, David, of Fort Mill, South Carolina, Katie McGee and husband, Henry, of Stallings.
There are five great- grandchildren, Jacob Schexnayder, Meredith Schexnayder, Jamaal Reid, Armand Hedgepath, and Abigail Arant; and a brother, Billy Ray Yandle of Monroe.
The family will receive friends Saturday (November 30, 2013) from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM one hour prior to the service at Davis Funeral Home; 1003 East Franklin Street in Monroe.
