Mr. David Crawford Montgomery, 83, of Waxhaw, died Thursday, September 12, 2013, at Kindred Nursing Home in Monroe.
Born in New York City, New York, Mr. Montgomery was the only child born to the late David and Clara Montgomery. He graduated from Choate Prep School in Wallingford, Connecticut and from Rensselaer University in Troy, New York. Mr. Montgomery served in the U.S. Marine Corps., where he taught radar. He raised Boston Terriers and was a founding member of Kenilworth Kennel Club in Connecticut. He also was one of the founders of Krak-Mont Bostons in Waxhaw, N.C. Mr. Montgomery was retired from Sandoz (Clairent) after 25 years of employment and was a member of AESF (American Electroplaters Society and Finishing).
Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Montgomery; his children, Leslie Romanow of Ft. Myers, Fla., William Robert Kratky of Hanover, N.C., Joyce Ann Brosius of Waxhaw, N.C. and Joseph Kenneth Kratky of Monroe, N.C.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
