Ronald Joseph Gospodareck (Mr. Gee to many), passed peacefully away into the loving arms of our Lord on Dec 17th, 2012 with his wife and stepdaughter at his side. He will be missed terribly by those left behind. But we are encouraged by the promises of seeing him once again. Ronald was born in Birmingham, Ala. as a twin (Donald) to the late Kenneth and Josephine Rodgers Gospodareck. He graduated from Phillips High School and later attended the University of Alabama. He worked as an inside/outside salesman for 30 years in the steel industry, later transferring to Jackson, Miss. where he lived for many years with his wife, Jimmie, until they relocated to Monroe, N.C.
He was a very fun loving and spirited person always giving to anyone in need. He coached youth basketball, football, and baseball, and just generally loved being around young people and sports. He was a lifelong enthusiastic Alabama football fan who would eagerly tell you all about it! He unselfishly cared for his elderly father-in-law in his last decade of life. Even when his body began to fail, he volunteered to drive the church van for patients at an adult day care, delighting in being able to brighten someone else’s day. He loved his family, traveling, and his church family. He fought a long, hard battle with pancreatic cancer from six years ago..never once giving up.
He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife of 39 years, Jimmie; stepdaughter, Robyn Lyemance; his identical twin brother, Donald (Jean); two sons, Kenneth (Judy) and Keith; four grandchildren, Kristen, Drew, Chase and Trevor; three great-grandchildren,Tyler, Tysen and Hayden; niece, Donna Jo Whalen (Tom); uncle, J.B. Rodgers, and numerous cousins, great-nieces and nephews.
The family wants to extend a special thanks to Drs. C. Ganguli, G. Frenette, L. Pederson, and B. Bringardner for their roles in our journey.
