Boyrd Griffin
Boyd Lee Griffin, 88, died Saturday, December 22, 2012.
Services will be Thursday, December 27, 2012 at 3 p.m. in Gordon Funeral Chapel, with burial to follow in Lakeland Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30 PM until 2:45 PM.

Mike Griffin
Mike Steven Griffin, 45, of Wingate died Friday, December 21, 2012 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Harris funeral Home & Cremation Service of Monroe.

Robert Murray
Robert Otha Murray died suddenly December 21st.
He was born on April 21, 1944 in Person County, North Carolina to Samuel Otha Murray & Janice Young Murray. In 1976, he relocated his family to the Charlotte area where he remained. He worked for Charlotte Latin Private School for many years and later retired from UNCC.
 Robert was a long-standing member of Faith Methodist Church at Lake Park. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his faithful companion Taz, and always looked forward to his next beach trip. He was an active member of the Monroe Fitness and Aquatic Center, an avid gardener, and maintained a successful landscaping business with the help of his grandson, Michael Summerour.
 He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Nancy H. Murray. He is survived by his two children Raymond A. Murray (Keri), and Cara Summerour (John), four grandchildren: Heather Barton (Cody), Dalton Murray (Melissa) and Michael and Zachary Summerour. He also leaves behind his two sisters, Jane Dillard (Noble) and Barbara Day (David).

The Rev. Esther Nixon
The Rev. Esther Mae Ellerbe Nixon, 90, of Waxhaw died Friday, December, 21, 2012 at Hospice of Union County in Monroe, NC.

Ruby Robinson
Mrs. Ruby Plyler Robinson, age 85, of Waxhaw, North Carolina, passed away Saturday, December 22, 2012, at White Oak of Waxhaw Nursing Center in Waxhaw.
 Funeral Services to Celebrate the Life of Ruby Plyler Robinson will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday, December 24, 2012 at Davis Funeral Chapel, conducted by Reverend Darrin Moore.
Interment will follow in the Waxhaw City Cemetery.
 Mrs. Robinson was born on March 12, 1927, in Union County, North Carolina, a daughter of the late Harrison A. Plyler and Blonnie Hinson Plyler.
She was married to the late Fred Albert Robinson. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Peggy Baker, and three sisters, Edith McManus , Wilhelmenia Bigham and Edna Carter.
 Survivors include a daughter. Annette Sullivan and husband Jimmy Sullivan of Mineral Springs; two sons,  Bobby Robinson and wife Phyllis Robinson of Waxhaw and Buddy Robinson and wife Joline Robinson of Waxhaw; a sister, Peggy Helms of Waxhaw.
There are 8 grandchildren, Leigh Robinson, Rodney and Kelly Robinson, Jennifer Robinson, Jeremy Robinson, Amanda and Zach Taylor, Ashley and Sam Steele, Scott Baker and Amy Baker; and 10 great grandchildren, Briar, Tori, Kayla, Alex, Riley, Katilyn, Aidan, Mariah, Ally and Payton.
 The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Monday morning, December 24, 2012,  prior to the funeral ceremony at Davis Funeral Home, 1003 East Franklin Street, Monroe, NC 28112.
 Memorials may be made to White Oak of Waxhaw Nursing Home, Activities Fund, 700 Howie Mine Road, Waxhaw, NC 28173.

Annie Mae Taft
Annie Mae Taft, 73, of Monroe died Saturday December 22, 2012 at Kindred Transitional Care & Rehab Center.

Douglas Tarlton
Douglas Mackie Tarlton, 66, died Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Hospice House in Monroe.  He was  was a U.S. Army veteran.
