Sharon H. Arrowood, 66, died Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at Hospice of Union County.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 6525 Old Monroe Road, Indian Trail. Interment will follow at Sharon Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Florence R. "Jean" Craig, 66, of Monroe, died Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Monroe.
Shirley “Nannie” Ann Eubanks Crook, 77, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013.
Services will be Friday, Jan. 18, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Jefferson Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013 from 6 -8 p.m. at Jefferson Baptist Church.

Alene Frick Luther
Alene Frick Luther, 83, passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2013, with her family by her side.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, January 18, 2013 in Silver Springs Baptist Church. Rev. Mark Little will officiate and burial will follow in Norview Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00, Thursday evening, January 17, 2013 at Edwards Funeral Home in Norwood.
Mrs. Luther was born in Stanly County, August 28, 1929 daughter of the late George Luther Frick and Anna Hathcock Frick.
She was a faithful charter member of South Stanly Baptist Church for over 45 years, where she served as secretary, GA councilor, pianist, choir member, and Sunday school teacher, before joining Silver Springs Baptist Church in 2009. She was owner and operator of Luther’s Florist. She loved going to church and was proud to have 35 years of School School perfect attendance. Alene was an avid gardener, enjoyed traveling, doing crafts, and spending time with friends and family laughing, while always enjoying the moment. Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, loved beyond words, and will be missed beyond measure.
She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Ernest Lee “Pete” Luther; son Byron Luther, and wife Lynn of Albemarle; daughter Paula Byrd and husband Keith of Norwood; three sisters, Jet Parker, Polly Hopkins both of Albemarle, Reba Livingston of New Port News, VA; four grandchildren, Sammy Byrd and wife LeAnne of Seattle, WA, Kevin Byrd of Albemarle, Kelly Byrd and wife Julie of Monroe, NC, and Tiffany Luther of Albemarle; four great grandchildren, Sam and Andrea Byrd of Albemarle, Kiersten Byrd of Monroe, and Josh Darrow of Seattle, WA.

Darleen Connell Mullis
Mrs. Kathy Darleen Connell Mullis, 58, passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte.
Darleen was born November 9, 1954 in Texas while her father and mother were stationed at Shepherd AFB, Texas, she is the daughter of Kathy Williams Connell and the late Laddie N. Connell.
Visitation will be Thursday evening, January 17, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe.
Services to celebrate the life of Darleen will be 3 p.m. Friday, January 18, 2013 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, with Reverend Jack Hildreth and Reverend Scott Patterson officiating.
Interment will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park.
Survivors include her husband: Danny Mullis of the home,; daughters: Tara LaRae Woody and, Phil Acevedo, Christen Nichol “Christy” Byrum and Scott; sons, Daniel Kasey Mullis and Angela all of Monroe, Will Hayes and Tiquia of Wingate; grandchildren, Kayleigh, Hunter, Landen, Blake, Owen, Tyler, Shelly, Sierra, Stephen, Mojo, Lucky, Baby Angel#2, Ian, Kasey, Tristan and Logan; mother, Kathy W. Connell and stepfather, Charles Penegar of Monroe; sister: Terry Connell Davis and Brent of Marshville.

Robert Lee Patterson, 70 of Wadesboro and formerly of Monroe, died Saturday, January 12, 2013 at his home.
Services will be at noon Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Mount Calvary AME Zion Church in Monroe with entombment at Lakeland Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Public viewing will be 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2013 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Monroe.
