A private ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013 at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.

Jackie Elliott, 61, of Pageland, S.C. died Jan. 11, 2013 at his home.

Geneva Irene Griffin, 60, of Marshville died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013 at Carolinas Medical Center - Pineville.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013 at God's Word Only in Wingate. Burial will be in the the Westview Cemetery in Wadesboro. Public viewing will be 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Richmond Funeral Home of Monroe.
Kenneth Michael Huey, 60, of Waxhaw died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013 at Carolinas Medical Center-Union in Monroe.

Han Massey Jr.
Mr. Ernest Han Massey Jr., 68, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Hospice of Union County.
Han was born July 21, 1944 in Mecklenburg County, N.C., son of Mrs. Mary Edith Boyd Massey and the late Ernest Hanson Massey Sr. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Karen Gantt Ledford Massey.
Survivors include one daughter, Cissi M. Henderson and husband, Gary, of Waxhaw, N.C.; one son, Chris Massey and wife, Jennifer, of Randleman, N.C.; four grandchildren, Marissa Henderson, Kennedi Henderson, Kathryn Massey and Christin Massey; his mother, Mrs. Mary Edith Boyd Massey of High Point, N.C.; one sister, Paula Massey Royster and husband, Carroll, of High Point, N.C.
Memorial services to celebrate the life of Han will be 2 p.m. Saturday, January 19, 2012 in the McEwen Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Paul Saleeby officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Robert Lee Patterson, 70, of Wadesboro, N.C., died Saturday, January 12, 2013 at his home. Funeral Services will be held at 12 noon Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Mount Calvary AME Zion Church, 800 LaSalle St., Monroe, N.C. with Bishop James L. Nance, Eulogist. Entombment will follow in the Lakeland Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Born July 26, 1942 a son of the late Jake and Connie Garris Patterson, he was a retired commercial painter. Precceding him in death were his parents, one son, Antonio Patterson; three sisters, Mary Magdalene Patterson, Helen Margaret Nance and Mary Frances Agurs; and one brother, Forest E. Patterson.
He leaves to cherish fond and loving memories his wife of 15 years, Diane Hubbard-Patterson of the home; his children, Robin P. Thompson (Richard) of Monroe, N.C., Kelly Patterson of Lawrenceville, Ga., Charles Broadway of Ansonville, N.C., Robbie Patterson of Marshville, N.C., Brandon LouAllen of Hickory, N.C.; one step-son, Urias J. Bennett, Jr., (Natalie) of Wadesboro, N.C.; one sister, Dr. Ella P.Hood of Monroe, N.C.; 11 Grandchildren; one great-grandson and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Gary "Bud" Purser
Gary Michael “Bud” Purser, 67 of Union County passed away Sunday, January 13, 2013 at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, N.C.
Mr. Purser was born October 19, 1945 in Monroe, N.C. to the late Henry Paul Purser and Flonnie May Funderburk Purser; one brother, Richard and one sister, Carolyn.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at Hartsell Funeral Home in Midland. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 17,
at Shiloh Advent Christian Church, 3601 Sikes Mill Road Monroe, N.C. 28110. The Rev. George Gouge and the Rev. Travis Hutchinson will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. At other times, the family will meet at his home.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Helms Purser and son, Stephen Michael Purser of the home, Monroe; brothers, Henry and wife, Juanita, Rondal and wife, Eloise, Douglas and wife, Nancy, Raymond, Keith, Kenneth and wife, Debbie of Monroe; sisters, Sandra Carriker, Ann Honeycutt of Monroe, and Pamela Hughes and husband, John, of Lenoir.

Floyd Richardson, 72, of Waxhaw died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013 at Hospice of Union County.
