Mr. Scott Allen Boeving, age 66, of Wingate, North Carolina, passed away Thursday, January 3, 2013, at Hospice House of Union County. A Memorial Service to Celebrate the Life of Scott Boeving. will be conducted at 3:00 PM Saturday, January 12, 2013, at Lakeview Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Chuck Broome of Church With A Purpose. Mr. Boeving was born on December 8, 1946, in Little Rock, Arkansas, a son of the late Joseph and Ruth Abigail Hart Boeving. He was raised in Jackson, Mississippi and spent most of his childhood there. Scott spent many years in the banking industry as a Vice President and in Management positions. He was passionate about his Lord and Savior and boldly shared his faith with others. Stranger or friend, he was willing to share The Great Commission and plant the seeds of Christianity around the world. Scott was a member of the Army National Guard in the 134th M.A.S.H. unit and was trained as a combat medic.He was also Vice President of the Airedale Terrier Club of America and cherished his 'dog show' families. Scott also earned his private and commercial pilot's license and loved to fly, taking his grandkids on many flights as well as using his skill to fly for business trips around the country. Survivors include the love of his life, wife, Dottie Boeving, daughter, Tracey Lathan and husband Darren of Charlotte; son, Ryan Boeving and wife Dawn of Monroe, brothers Dan Boeving and wife Shy of Raleigh, NC, Jody Boeving and Tim Boeving, both of Arkansas; sisters, Star Geoghegan and Dottie-Gay Riley, both of Arkansas; grandchildren, Sidnye, Savannah, and Austin Lathan, and Jacob and Hunter Boeving. Dottie would like to thank friends, family and community for their thoughts, prayers and generosity during Scott's illness. Davis Funeral Home of Monroe is serving the family of Mr. Boeving. Taite C. Edwards, 26, died Jan. 3, 2013 at his residence.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday in the Caudle Family Cemetery, 2212 Hwy 218, Peachland, N.C.

Wanda Gibson Poe, 75, died Friday, January 04, 2013 at Hospice of Union County. Services will be at noon Monday, Jan. 7, 2013 in Leavitt Funeral Home. The family will greet friends prior to services beginning at 11 a.m.

Donald Fred Tornow, 91, of Monroe, died Friday, Jan. 5, 2013, at home.
Arrangements remain incomplete and will be announced by Davis Funeral Service, Inc.
Loma C. Wheeler, 83, went to be with the Lord, Friday January 4, 2013 at Piedmont Medical Center.
Services to celebrate her life will be held 2:00 pm Monday January 7, 2013 at Potter’s House Independent Baptist Church, 7393 Croxton Road, Kershaw, S.C. with Pastor Sonny Rogers and Pastor Ronnie Owens officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service at the church.
Mrs. Wheeler was born May 21, 1929 in Union County to Rudy and Eva Helms Craig. She was the Senior Pastor at Potter’s House Independent Baptist Church that shown through her zest for life and love of God. She had an exceptional green thumb and loved taking care of her great great grandchildren, Emma Lou, Hunter, B.J., Ethan and her variety of animals.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Rev. M.J. Wheeler, sisters Mary Lee Crump, Georgie Faye Green, Hazel Craig, brothers, R.C. Craig, Thomas Craig, and Curtis Craig.
Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Mullis; a son, Thomas Neal Wheeler; and two brothers, Jack Craig of Hemby Bridge and Ray Craig of Monroe.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to her grandson and loving care givers Eddie Wheeler, wife Abbie and their children E.J. and Wendy. As well as Deborah Baker, Shirley Griffin, Joe, Maxine and Mary Bass for their friendship and love.
