Reva C. Simpson, 98, passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2013.
Born August 17, 1915 to Carroll Brown Carper and Bertha McLean Carper in Rowland, NC, Mrs. Simpson graduated from Rowland High School and continued her education by taking a post-graduate course there.
She was a member of Little Church on the Lane for 75 years and was also a member of the Tuesday Morning Circle, as well as the Gold Star Wives of America.
Her greatest joy was raising her four children and being together with her family.
Mrs. Simpson is survived by two children, Joseph Eugene Simpson (Linda) of Locust, and Jane Griffin Medlin (Gene) of Midland; her sister, Margaret Carper Greene of Asheboro; 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 19 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Edward Miller Griffin and Joseph Eugene Simpson, Sr., two sons, David Robert Griffin and Charles Donald Griffin; and her brother, Robert Carroll Carper.
A service to celebrate Mrs. Simpson’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 29th at Little Church on the Lane. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the service.
