Una Vivian Quick, 81, of Indian Trail, passed quietly into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Hospice House of Union County.
Funeral Services in celebration of her life will be held Monday, December 9, 2013 at 3PM at Union Grove United Methodist Church with Reverend Dr. Robert Sturge and Rev. Earl Bradshaw officiating. Burial will follow at Emanuel Cemetery. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
She was born January 28, 1932 in Scottsboro, AL. She was the daughter of the late Albert and Ova Petty. She spent her early years in Scottsboro. Upon graduating high school, she moved to Washington, DC where she worked for the FBI. She moved to Charlotte where she met the love of her life Frank, after working for the Charlotte Hornets Baseball Team. She enjoyed raising her two children and then started a career as the cafeteria manager at Unionville Elementary School. Traveling with her family and friends gave her great joy. Church and her strong faith were cornerstones of her life.
She is preceded in death by her husband: Claude Franklin Quick; one brother: A.W. Petty, and nephew Brad Petty. She is survived by her son: Charles Quick (Robin) of Indian Trail; her daughter: Joann Quick of Indian Trail; sister-in-law: Mickey Sue; two nieces: Angela and Cynthia and nephew Keith. She is also survived by a beloved extended family of brothers and sisters-in-law of Frank as well as nieces, nephews and friends.
