Roosevelt Broadway, 74, of Monroe died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012 at Hospice of Union County.
Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Nov. 27, 2012 at Fairview Church of God in Burnsville. The body will lie in state an hour before the service. Public viewing will be from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26, 2012 at the Bennie Blakely Jr. Memorial Chapel at Richmond Funeral Home of Monroe.
Thelma Y. High, 80, died November 23, 2012 at Anson Community Hospital.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Monday at High Family Cemetery in Peachland. The family will greet friends after the service.
Arrangements are being handled by Morgan & Son Funeral Home.
Mr. David Isaac Jones, 65, passed away at his residence surrounded by his loving family, Friday November 23, 2012. He was a native of Monroe, born January 8, 1947, son of the late Harry J. and Naomi Connell Jones. David was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Vietnam War. He was retired from Charlotte Plastics after many years of service.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday, November 27 in the Gordon Funeral Chapel with interment to follow in Lakeland Memorial Park.
Surviving are his wife, Carolyn Hampton Jones of the home; daughter, April Chaney and husband, Andy, of Waxhaw; sisters, Jane Lambert and husband, Don, of Locust and Ruth Jones of Monroe.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday at Gordon Funeral Service 1904 Lancaster Ave. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Union County 700 W. Mr. Jerry “J.L.” Nelson Lemmonds, age 57, of Waxhaw, passed away Thursday, November 22, 2012 at his home.
“J.L.” was born November 9, 1955 in Union County, N.C., a son of the late Mr. James Newton Lemmonds and the late Mrs. Margaret Kinfield Crow Lemmonds, and was also preceded in death by a brother, Mr. James Ray Lemmonds.
“J.L.” is survived by one daughter, Brandi Herold and husband, Chris, of Lancaster, S.C.; one grandson, Ethan Garland of Lancaster, S.C.; one sister, Martha White and husband, Jerry, of Monroe; three brothers, Ken Lemmonds and wife, Lori, of Wadesboro, N.C., Allen Lemmonds and wife, Crystal, and Jeff Lemmonds and wife, Joyce, all of Waxhaw.
The family will receive friends and relatives for visitation Sunday afternoon November 25, 2012 from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the McEwen Funeral Home in Monroe
Funeral services for Mr. Lemmonds will be at 2 p.m. Monday, November 26, 2012, in the Bonds Grove United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Byron Alexander, with burial to follow in the church cemetery .
