Charles A. Estes, Jr., 70, of Stallings, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Heritage Funeral Home-Indian Trail Chapel. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service.

Marcus E. Lewis Sr., 101, of Mount Gilead died Feb. 7, 2013.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, February 16, 2013 at St. Luke Holiness Church of God, 542 Parkertown Rd., Mount Gilead. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 10:55 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing will be held from 12 noon to 7 p.m. Friday Feb. 15, 2013 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Mount Gilead.
Patsy Floriece Garmon Phillips, 75, of Indian Trial, N.C., passed away February 9, 2013 at Carolinas Medical Center-Mercy Main in Charlotte, N.C.
Mrs. Phillips was born October 7, 1937 in Cabarrus County to the late Clarence Oscar Garmon and Fetney Hargett Garmon . She was the owner of Pat’s Place Grill and her life revolved around her Grill and her family. She enjoyed being outside gardening as well.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, February 12, 2012 at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Hartsell Funeral Home Midland with Pastor Garold Roseman officiating. The family will gather with friends immediately following the service.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Ware Phillips; brothers, Bob Garmon and Newton “Bud” Garmon and her sister, Marie Grey.
She is survived by her daughter, Renee Phillips Brooks of Charlotte; son, Allen Phillips of Charleston, S.C.; sisters, Judy Walling of Concord and Betty Loving of Monroe; brother, Oscar Garmon of Georgia; sister-in-law, Phyllis Garmon of Midland and numerous nieces and nephews.

Margie Mae Griffin Pressley, 85, of Culpeper, Va. passed away Monday, February 11, 2013 in Culpeper Regional Hospital. She was born May 8, 1927 in Monroe, N.C., daughter of the late Worley G. Griffin and Bertha Jones Griffin and wife of the late Elder Raymond Edgar Pressley. She is also preceded in death by a son, Danny Ray Pressley and a sister, Earldean Austin.
Mrs. Pressley was a LPN at Union Memorial Hospital in Monore, N.C. and the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville, Va. She was an active and devoted member of Barrows Run Primitive Baptist Church in Opal, Va.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
She is survived by her daughter, Janice Pressley Suter and her husband, Dr. Charles Suter, of Culpeper, Va; a brother, Kenneth Griffin and wife, Geraldine, of Monroe, N.C.; five grandchildren, Kelly Kienle and husband, Toby, of Fredericksburg, Va, Jennifer Privette and husband, Drew, of Boone, N.C., Emily Clontz of Columbia, S.C., Claire Pressley and husband, Brandon Furr, of Charlotte, N.C., and Amanda Rosenblatt and husband, Jesse, of Charlottesville, Va.; six great-grandchildren, James, Luke, Asa and Elias Privette of Boone, N.C. and Liam and Liv Kienle of Fredericksburg, Va.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Madison, Va. with interment at Robinson River Primitive Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the 2013 Culpeper Relay for Life at www.relayforlife.org.
Ms. Amy C. Simpson, age 46, went home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on the evening of Friday, February 8, 2013 at her home in Charlotte with her mother by her side.
Amy was born in Monroe, N.C. She earned an associate’s degree in Early Childhood Development and was an inspiration to the many children she embraced. Amy was a devoted employee for many years for Clift Industries, Inc.
She was dedicated to nurturing the lives she touched and loved and adored by many/everyone as she had such a loving, giving and kind soul. Amy was a loving daughter and a good friend to many.
She is survived by her mother, Sue York Simpson (Matt Barnhill); fiancé Joe Schwerin; aunts, Treena York Watson (Ted) and Shelia York Pressley (Lanny); cousins. Lena Tucker (Jimmy), Leighton Pressley (Debbie), Linus Pressley (Donna), Lundy Pressley (Alicia), Stephanie Spencer (Jeff), Matthew Tucker (Jessica) and Lindsey Pressley; father, Ken Simpson (Myrna); half-brother, Jarod Simpson; step-sister, Missy Simpson; aunt, Loretta Fincher and uncle, Mel Simpson (Mary Anne).
The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to all of the dedicated caregivers, Risa, Marc and the other wonderful staff of Bayada Nursing Agency.
The family will be receiving family and friends on Monday, February 11, 2013 from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at McEwen Funeral Home in Monroe.
Funeral services to celebrate Amy’s life will be held on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Mill Creek Baptist Church in Monroe. Entombment will follow in the Lakeland Memorial Park Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Amy’s mother for extensive medical expenses.
