Aaron 'Speedy' Hailey 72, of Wingate died Monday at The Brian Center Monroe.
Funeral service will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Philadelphia Baptist Church,. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Body will lie in repose from 1 p.m. til the hour of the service.
Public visitation will be Friday from 2 to 7 p.m. at the L. D. Grier Funeral chapel. Grier Funeral Service Monroe is handling arrangements.
James A. Mullis
James Albert Mullis, 97, died Wednesday at his residence.
Mr. Mullis was born July 1, 1915 in Union County, son of the late James Lex and Lillian Cleone Yarbrough Mullis. He was also preceded by his wife, Nancy Amanda Flow Mullis who died in 1976.
Mr. Mullis was a WWII Army veteran, having received two Bronze Stars while in service.
Visitation will be 7 until 9 p.m. Friday, November 23, 2012 at the McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe.
Graveside services to celebrate his life will be Saturday, November 24, 2012 at 11 a.m. in the Arlington Baptist Church Cemetery.
Survivors include one daughter, Beckie M. McManus of Wesley Chapel N.C.; one son, Jim Mullis and wife Carol of Wesley Chapel N.C.; grandchildren, Nicole Boyles and husband Paul, Melody Graham, Jeremiah McManus, Amanda McManus and Zeb Mullis, all of Union County N.C.; great grandchildren: Mackenzie Graham, Savannah Graham, Justin Boyles, Andrew Boyles, Lane McManus, Georgia McManus and Michael Billingsley.
