James Brakefield
James Harold Brakefield, 82 of Monroe died Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at CMC-Main in Charlotte.
Chief Master Sergeant Brakefield was retired from the United States Air Force and will be laid to rest at Quantico Veteran Cemetery with full Military Honors in Quantico, Virginia.
Davis Funeral Service, inc. is handling arrangements.

Jerry Faulkner
Jerry Wesley Faulkner, 76, died Friday, February 15, 2013 at Hospice of Union County.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Good Shepherd Funeral Home, Indian Trail.

Raymond Ganser
Mr. Raymond Joseph Ganser,84,died Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at his residence. 
Mr. Ganser was born March 22, 1928 in Fort Atkinson, WI., son of the late Mark M. and Myra B. Kosher Ganser. He was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Michael M. Bristow, and a grandson,  Zachary Newman.
Rosary Service will be 5 p.m. Sunday, February 17, 2013 in the McEwen Colonial Chapel. Visitation will follow from 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Services to celebrate the life of Raymond will be 3:00 p.m. Monday, February 18, 2013 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, with Father Benjamin A. Roberts, celebrant. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Fort Atkinson, WI. 
Survivors include sons, Gary Ganser (Karen) of Mayville, WI., Mark Ganser (Sharon) of Seward AK., Daniel Ganser (Lisa) of Guyton Ga.; daughters, Kathryn Bolger (Steve) of DePere, WI., Barbara Little (Mike) of Gilbert AZ., Margaret Bristow of Florence SC.' 18 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, special friend Irene Patrus of Monroe NC.; brothers-in-law; brother Tom Chady of Texas, Jim Chady of Illinois, John Chady of California.
 Memorials may be sent to the American Lung Association, P.O. Box 35010, Richmond, Va. 23235. 
McEwen Funeral and Cremation Service of Monroe is serving the family of Mr. Ganser.

Katsuko Koga
Mrs. Katsuko Koga, 92, died Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at her residence.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 6525 Old Monroe Road, Indian Trail.

Ella Lindsay
Ella Louise Hargette Lindsay,  66 of Monroe, died Thursday, February 14, 2013 at CMC-Main in Charlotte.
Services will be Monday evening, Feb. 18, 2013,  at 6 p.m.  at Roanoke Baptist Church, 618 Roanoke Church Rd., Monroe, NC 28110. Visitation will follow at the 2706 Concord Highway residence in Monroe.

Willie Esther Moseley
Mrs. Willie Esther Massey Moseley, 84, of Monroe, died Tuesday, February, 12, 2013, at Brian Center in Charlotte.
She was born January 15, 1929 in Union County to the late Fay Massey Deese.
She was married to the late Walter Moseley.
Funeral service will be Sunday, February 17, 2013, at 1 p.m. at Langford Chapel C.M.E. Church, 111 S. Johnson Street, Monroe. The Rev. Sandra H. Gripper, pastor, Burial will be in Lakeland Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include a son, Ronald Lee Moseley of Monroe; a sister, Mrs. Minnie Crowder (John) of Mnroe; granddaughters she reared as her child, Alcynthia Gaskins (Chris) and Taquesha Poston of Monroe; three great grandchildren she adored and love "Grammy," Quashawn, Terrell and Cynthia; a sister in law, Corrine Caldwell of Philadelphia, Pa.
The body will lie in repose from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday at the church. Visitation will be Saturday, February 16, 2013, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Richmond Funeral Home, 714 East Franklin Street, Monroe, North Carolina, 28112.

George Rogers
George W. “Pete” Rogers, 74, died Friday, February 15, 2013.
Pete was a career soldier in the U.S. Army,  serving his country for 22 years.  He served two tours of duty in Vietnam and three in Germany.
Services will be February 18, 2013 at 11 a.m. in Gordon Funeral Chapel, 1904 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC  28112.   
The family will receive friends one hour before the service.
