Erica Daley Tyson, age 60, of Monroe, N.C., passed away Saturday morning March 9, 2013 at CMC-Main in Charlotte.
Funeral Services to Celebrate the Life of Erica D. Tyson will be conducted at 3:00 PM Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Bethlehem United Methodist Church, officiated by Reverend Lynda Ferguson.
Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband Samuel Dwight Tyson of 30 years. She is the mother of three children (Audrey Tyson Morgan, Meredith Tyson Benthall, and Samuel Daley Tyson). She is the grandmother to Blythe and Teague Morgan.
Erica, the daughter of Elizabeth Daley and the late Charles Daley, was born on October 5, 1952, in Philadelphia, PA, and is survived by her four sisters: Debra Granneman, Kim Daley, Claudia Alicea, and Cory McQuesten.
Erica was a passionate and devoted wife to Sam and a loving mother to her three children. She faithfully served God and others as a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Waxhaw, NC. Over the course of nearly 30 years, she was a servant-leader on multiple church ministry initiatives and leadership groups. Along with her husband, they have built and successfully operated Sam Tyson Builders, Inc. and Safehaven Storage of Monroe, NC.
Erica thoroughly enjoyed spending quality time with her family and countless friends from her church and the community. She instilled happiness and confidence to everyone that had the joy of spending time with her.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:30 PM Tuesday evening, March 12, 2013, at the Family Life Center of Bethlehem United Methodist Church, 5300 Nesbit Road, Waxhaw, North Carolina 28173.
