Richard Boyles

INDIAN TRAIL — Richard Eugene Boyles, 61, died Oct. 25, 2009 at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte.

Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at New Salem Baptist Church in Monroe.

Born May 12, 1948, he was a son of the late Loy and Eva Boyles. He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and was retired as a warehouse supervisor for Berry Tri-Plas.

Survivors include his wife, Tina Marie Boyles of Indian Trail; one son, Richard Aaron Boyles of Indian Trail; one daughter, Allison Marie Boyles of Indian Trail; one brother, Donald Boyles of Concord; and one sister, Carolyn Meed of Concord.

Visitation will follow the service in the church foyer.

Dotchie Slagle

MONROE — Mrs. Dotchie Slagle, 79, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thanksgiving morning, November 26, 2009, at Hospice House #1, with her loving family by her side.

Dotchie was born May 18, 1930, in Union County, N.C., the daughter of the late William Bartley and Lula Price Wooten. She was also preceded in death by her son, Eddie Slagle; her sister, Ruth Pressley; her brothers, Clegg Wooten, Harold Wooten, Haskel Wooten, Oscar Wooten, J.B. Wooten.

She was known for her love of music and was an accomplished pianist.

Services to celebrate the life of Dotchie will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 29, 2009, at Calvary Baptist Church with her pastors, Reverend Eddie Price and Reverend John Culbreth officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Interment will be private.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Bus Slagle of the home; one daughter, Rebecca Hill and husband Harry of Dania Beach, Fla.; three grandchildren, Frank Hill, Hayley Hill, Emilly Hill; many loving nieces and nephews.

Jennifer Williams

WINGATE — Jennifer Renee Williams, 29, died Friday at Carolinas Medical Center-Union in Monroe.

Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Monday at Morgan & Son Funeral Home in Marshville.

Born April 2, 1980, she was a daughter of Buddy and Sharon Kaylor Miller.

Survivors, in addition to her parents, include her husband, Joe Williams of the home; two daughters, Riley Brooke Williams, Gracie Page Williams, both of the home; one brother, Jeff Miller of Marshville; two sisters, Jessica Duke of Murray, Ky., Melissa Gill of Mayfield, Ky.; maternal grandparents, Jack and Myra Kaylor of Savannah, Ga.; and her paternal grandfather, Don Miller of Brooklet, Ga.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
