Geneva Nance

PEACHLAND — Geneva Stegall Nance, 93, died Wednesday (Nov. 4, 2009) at Carolinas Medical Center-Union in Monroe.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Deep Springs Baptist Church, with burial in the Harmony Community Church cemetery.

Born May 2, 1916, in Anson County, she was a daughter of the late M.L. and Lula Baucom Stegall.

Survivors include two sons, Harold Nance of Peachland, Lynn Nance of Monroe; one daughter, Pat Felmet of Rock Hill, S.C.; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in the Deep Springs Baptist Church fellowship building.

Dennis Veit

MARSHVILLE — Dennis W. Veit, 60, of Marshville passed away on Monday, November 2nd. He was born May 26, 1949, in Texas to Carl R. and Dorothy Veit. He was the owner of Package Delivery of Monroe for 26 years.

Mr. Veit is survived by his wife Nova; his children, Julia Helms, Wayne and Lee Veit, all of Marshville; his mother, Dorothy Veit of Florida; sisters Carol Price of Lehigh Acres, Florida, Margaret Carey of Salisbury, N.C., Toni Asbury of York, S.C.; his grandchildren, Jordan, Devin and Cameron Helms, and Travis, Destiny, Jent and Jessie Veit, and several neices and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 5th at 4:00 p.m. at Centerview Baptist Church located at 2711 Old Pageland-Marshville Road, Marshville, NC 28103.
