Erick Baucom

POLKTON -- Erick Barton Baucom 86, of Polkton died Sunday, December 27, 2009 at CMC-Union in Monroe.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM Tuesday December 29, 2009 at Rocky Mount Baptist Church. Rev. George Huneycutt and Rev. Rex Burleson will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors by the Stanly County DAV. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 Tuesday afternoon at the church.

Mr. Baucom was born November 3, 1923 in Anson County. He was a son of the late Willie and Glennie Deese Baucom and was a retired Superintendent with McDevitt & Street Construction Company. He was a member of Rocky Mount Baptist Church, an ordained Baptist Minister and a WWII Army Veteran. He was a founding member of the Burnsville Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department.

He was preceded in death by his wife Polly Randall Baucom.

He is survived by two sons, Ronnie and Mark Baucom both of Polkton. One brother, Rogers Baucom of Wadesboro. Eight sisters, May Randall and Lucille Howell both of Ansonville, Perene Williams and Darlene Threatt both of Polkton, Gail Crump of Norwood, Dolly Little of Marshville, Betty Rogers of Stanfield and Enza Nash of Charlotte. Two Grandchildren and 3 Great-Grandchildren.

Georgia Carnes

MONROE -- Georgia Eugenia Carnes, 96, passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2009. She was born in Union County, NC on December 20, 1913 daughter of the late Calvin and Lou Ella Estridge Starnes.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Wolf Pond Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl F. Carnes, brothers, J.C. Starnes and Billy Ward Starnes, sisters, Mae S. Nash, Ida S. Funderburk and Ethel S. Crisp. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and friends and was a second mother to Bob and Brent Crisp and Mary Nash.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the CMC-Union 3rd floor nurses and staff, her adopted niece, Dale Hargett, friends of the Wolf Pond community and members of the Wolf Pond Baptist Church.

MONROE -- Forrest L. Eoute, 60, died Sunday, December 27, 2009, at Carolina Medical Center-Union.

Mr. Eoute was born March 2, 1949, in Nesbet, Pa., son of Forrest Lyndon and Gertrude Elizabeth VanRonk Eoute. Forrest was the owner and operator of A.T. Solutions LLC.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday. December 30, 2009,a t Faulk’s Baptist Church Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Kathy D. Eoute of the home; daughters, Amanda Eoute Goranson of Marshville, N.C., Annette Eoute of Charlotte, N.C.; grandsons, Devin Goranson of Marshville, N.C., Austin Alexander of Charlotte, N.C.; his parents, Forrest L. and Gertrude Elizabeth Eoute of Greenville, S.C.; brother, David Eoute of Greenville, S.C.; sisters, Blanche Eoute Frasier of Greenville, S.C. and Sarah Eoute Vernacchio of Franklin, Tenn.

Marvin Sechler

MONROE

Marvin Richard Sechler, 94, passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2009 at Hospice of Union County; House One. He was born in Rowan County on October 2, 1915 son of the late Calvin and Carrie Flemming Sechler. Mr. Sechler was retired from Firestone after 40 years of service, was a faithful member for over 60 years of Bethlehem United Methodist Church and was the oldest male member. He and his brothers loved bluegrass music and played in the Yodeling Rangers later known as the Trail Riders Band during the 1930’s.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Bethlehem United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park.

Mr. Sechler was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth “Lib” Walkup Sechler, brother, Duard Sechler. He is survived by his daughter, Gaile Rowell of Monroe, brothers, George Sechler of Crowley, TX, Curly Sechler of Hendersonville, TN, Floyd Sechler and Hugh Sechler, both of China Grove, sisters, Mary Freeze and Ruth Speck, both of China Grove, and granddaughter, Heather Rhew of Sunset Beach, NC.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 Wednesday prior to the service at the church.

HAMLET -- Willie Mae Booker Wright has died.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2009, at St. Peter United Methodist Church. 205 North Bridges Street, Hamlet. Burial will follow in the Green Pond Church Cemetery in Gibson,

She was born May 2, 1936 in Marlboro County, the daughter of the late Will White Coppage and the late May Lillie McGirt.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Fannie D. Love, her great grandson, Michael J. Bowden, and her sisters, Martha White, Minnie Robinson, Lillie Ferguson, Mae Della Bennett and Lizzie Braswell, and her brother, John Bethea.

She is survived by daughters Annie West of Biscoe and Dorothy Booker-Womack of Monroe; sisters, Mandy Thomas, Ethel Bethea, Frances Bethea and Martha Gillespie, and borthers, Frank Bethea Jr., James C. Bethea, James W Bethea and James E. Bethea, all of Maxton and Everette Bethea of Laurinburg; and six grandchildren.

Visitation will be today from 1 to 6 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Service in Rockingham.
