Eve Beddoes

WILMINGTON -- Eve Beddoes, age 84, passed away on November 13, 2009, at the Davis Health facilities located in Wilmington. Prior to that, she lived for almost thirty years in the Charlotte-Monroe areas. Her family would like to thank Tommy Hayes, a long-time special friend, for his invaluable help during this time. Because of “Big Gaby,” Eve was able to stay in her own home longer than expected. We could never begin to repay him for his loving help and many kindnesses throughout this entire experience.

Eve leaves behind three children and their families: Genia Beddoes Williams and husband Larry, Woody Kell Beddoes and wife Emily, and April Beddoes Brooks and husband Lewis. Her grandchildren are Paul Williams (wife Krishna), Keith Williams, Hamp Beddoes, Capers Beddoes, Kelley Sherrill Cook (husband Ash), and David Sherrill. Great-grandchildren are Emily and Walker Williams and Gabriella and Christian Cook.

This fourteen year journey through the world of Alzheimer’s has not been easy for any of us, especially Eve. However, her family has found comfort in seeing the hand of God many times throughout this arduous trek. And now, Eve has finally been set free from the bondage of this insidious disease and placed into the hands of God.

Graveside services will be held in Sanford, NC, on Monday, November 16, where she will be laid to rest in a family plot.

In lieu of flowers, people may send donations in memory of Eve to The Alzheimer’s Association, Southern Piedmont Chapter, 3420 Shamrock Dr., Charlotte, NC 28215.

Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Home, Wilmington, N.C., is handling arrangements.
