K.D. Chambers

PEACHLAND — K.D. Chambers, 88, died Wednesday (Sept. 23, 2009) at Lake Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Mount Elon United Methodist Church in Jefferson, S.C., with burial in the church cemetery. The body will lie in repose one hour before the service.

Born Aug. 1, 1921, in Anson County, he was a son of the late Anderson and Glennie Allen Chambers.

Survivors include two sons, Leon Chambers of Peachland and Laverne Chambers of Monroe.

Public viewing will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Harris Funeral Home of Monroe.

Mary Miles

INDIAN TRAIL — Mary H. Miles, 62, died Thursday (Sept. 24, 2009).

Graveside service will be 1 p.m. today in Lakeland Memorial Park in Monroe.

Survivors include her husband, David R. Miles of Indian Trail; one son, James W. McDowell of Winston-Salem; two daughters, Tammy Herring of Shallotte, Sueann Owen of Charlotte; four brothers; three sisters; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m. today at the graveside.
