Lantern tours planned at S.C. park

LANCASTER, S.C. — Andrew Jackson State Park will have its annual Life in the Waxhaws lantern tours on Nov. 14. Participants can see for themselves what life was like for early settlers in the Waxhaws and see how the American Revolution affected the region. Participants can experience life in our area during Andrew Jackson’s time and watch events that shaped the community.

Meet at picnic shelter No. 1. Lantern tours will begin at 6 p.m., 6:30 p.m., 7 p.m., and 7:30 p.m. and will last about 30 minutes each.

Cost is $5 per adult, $2 per youth ages 6 to 12. Children under 6 are admitted free.

The park is nine miles north of Lancaster on U.S. 521 at 196 Andrew Jackson Park Road. For more information, call the park at 803-285-3344.
