WEDDING: Ormand-Beatty
The Village Chapel of Bald Head Island was the setting for the 3:30 p.m. Nov. 14, 2009, wedding of Sara Alida Ormand and Andrew Owen Beatty. The Rev. Dr. Charles C. Williamson officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. T. Lane Ormand of Monroe. She is the granddaughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. John W. Ormand and the late Mr. and Mrs. Herbert H. Price.
She graduated from Monroe High School and from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is employed by American Manufacturing Trade Coalition in Washington, D.C.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Calvin Beatty of Charlotte. His grandparents are E.C. Beatty Jr. of Charlotte and the late Mrs. Beatty and the late Mr. and Mrs. Edgar H. Lemons.
He is a graduate of West Mecklenburg High School and graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill. He is employed by Cambridge Associates in Arlington, Va.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
Serving as maid of honor was Anna Faith Patty, niece of the bride.
Bridesmaids were Allison Jeanette Freeburn, Kellie Elizabeth Zesch, both of New York City, Amanda Stilley Haselden of Charleston, S.C., Amy Graham Snead of Charlotte and Amanda Meredith Young of Washington, D.C.
The groom’s father served as best man.
Groomsmen were John Robert Gibson of Atlanta, Benjamin Willliam Hood, Taylor Moffat Small, both of Raleigh, John Harrison Horne, Justine Lloyd Perry and John Hatcher Snead, all of Charlotte, and William Lane Patty of Monroe.
The wedding reception, held at the Bald Head Island Club, followed the ceremony. The rehearsal was held Nov. 13, 2009, at the Shoals Club on Bald Head Island, hosted by the groom’s parents. The Beattys will reside in Washington, D.C.
