WEDDING: Rushing-Grant
Nicey Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Marshville was the setting for the 3 p.m. Oct. 24, 2009, wedding of Pamela Denise Rushing and David F. Grant. The Rev. Diane Belk and Pastor Dene Grant officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Nan Rushing and Horace Davis of Monroe. She is the granddaughter of Macie Marsh of Monroe.
She graduated from Monroe High School in 1997 and from Winston Salem State University in 2003 and 2006. She is employed by North Carolina Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem as a registered nurse.
The groom is the son of Mae Melton and Nero Grant of Chesterfield, S.C.
He is a 1985 graduate of Chesterfield High School. He is employed by ATI Allvac of Monroe.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a long gown of white and satin.
She carried a bouquet of orange calla lilies.
Serving as matron of honor was Verniece Grant of Monroe and serving as maid of honor was Rachel Rushing of Winston Salem.
Bridesmaids were Sasha Grant of Cheraw, S.C., LaCretia Grant of Chesterfield, Jan Belin Owens of Charlotte and Stephanie Mitchell of Charlotte.
The groom’s brother, Alphonso Melton, of Chesterfield, served as best man.
Groomsmen were Charles Myers of Ruby, S.C., Glenn Cash of Chesterfield, David L. Grant of Ruby, S.C., Daylen Belk of Chesterfield and Mike Peterkin of Ruby.
Also in the wedding party were Jada Anthony as flower girl and Terrell Marsh as ring bearer.
The wedding reception, held at Wingate University’s LaVerne Banquet Hall, followed the ceremony.
The rehearsal dinner was held on Oct. 23, 2009, at Nicey Grove Baptist Church in Marshville.
After a wedding trip to Hilton Head, S.C., the Grants reside in Chesterfield.
