Antioch Baptist Church in Monroe was the setting for the 4 p.m. Aug. 1, 2009, wedding of Brittany Lauren Vanderlip and Dustin Mark Kiker. The Rev. Mike Riley officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Lori Mullis Vanderlip of Pageland, S.C., and Marty Vanderlip of Monroe. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mullis of Pageland and Lucille Vanderlip of Monroe.

She graduated from New Covenant Christian School in 2003 and from USC-Lancaster in 2005. She is employed by Southern Piedmont Primary Care in Monroe.

The groom is the son of Danny and Cathy Kiker of Monore. His grandparents are Frances Kiker of Monroe and the late Norman Kiker, and Mr. and Mrs. Osco Jackson of Monroe.

He is a 2002 graduate of Piedmont High School and graduated from N.C. State University in 2006. He is employed by Arp Engerineering Inc. In Monroe.

The bride, given in marriage by her brother, Taylor Vanderlip of Pageland, wore a long ivory sonata taffeta with embellished lace. It was fashioned with a strapless neckline, A-line (fitted) waist. The neckline was trimmed with Swarovski crystals, glass beads, bugle beads, seed pearls and sequins.

The skirt extended in a semi-cathedral-length train enhanced with button-over closure and the bustle skirt was adorned with embellished lace appliques.

She carried a nosegay bouquet of verdella roses accented with pearls throughout.

Serving as maid of honor was Madison Vanderlip, sister of the bride, of Pageland.

Bridesmaids were Christy Mullis of Jefferson, S.C., Holly Sadowski of Monroe, Rebecca Kiker of Monroe, Allison Keller of Monroe, Lora James of Lancaster, S.C., Jackie Clayton of Inman, S.C., and Amanda Waller of Polkton.

The groom’s father served as best man.

Groomsmen were Taylor Vanderlip of Pageland, Travis Kiker of Monroe, Paul Sadowski of Monroe, Ian Justice of Fuquay-Varina, Brad Davenport of Apex, Matt Jones of Raleigh and Josh Law of Southport.

Also in the wedding party were Connor Sadowski and Grant Mullis as ring bearers and Laura Jo Hinson as flower girl.

The wedding reception was held in the Antioch Baptist Church fellowship hall.

The rehearsal dinner was held on July 31, 2009, at the New Salem VFD in Marshville.

After a wedding trip to Florida, the Kikers reside in Monroe.
