Welch throws 4 TD passes in Warriors win over CCD

Warriors hold Country Day to three points

Senior quarterback Jeff Welch threw four touchdown passes to lead Weddington High's football team to a 28-3 home win over Charlotte Country Day on Friday.
The Buccaneers (4-2) held a 3-0 advantage at the end of the first quarter, but the Warriors (5-1) responded with three unanswered TDs in the second to take control.
Junior receiver Zach Goins caught two touchdown passes in the second quarter while junior receiver Chris Trevisan added one.
Ryan Black, a senior receiver, hauled in Welch's fourth and final touchdown pass with 9:49 left in the fourth to put the Bucs away. Sophomore defensive end Lance Moore led the defense with three sacks.

Weddington begins play in the Southern Carolina Conference at Anson County next Friday.
