Monroe's Tre'Shun Wynn and Porter Ridge's Jerrick Robbins have been voted to the Associated Press All-State team.
Former Weddington High QB Anthony Boone threw for 427 yards and three touchdowns in the Chick-fil-A Bowl, but it wasn't enough to hold off Johnny Manziel and Texas A&M in an epic battle. Boone was one of five former Union County players who contributed in bowl games last week.

Monroe is 11-3 in playoffs since this senior class stepped on campus, and they have a chance to deliver the school's first-ever state title in football.
Monroe jumped out early and was never threatened in a 48-20 home win over Parkwood in the 2AA state semifinal round on Friday. The Redhawks, now 13-2, are in the state title game for the first time since 1989.
