Warriors knock out Asheville, 14-10

Weddington 11-2 heading into third round

Senior receiver Ryan Black scored two touchdowns to lead Weddington High to a 14-10 road win over second-seeded Asheville in the second round of the 3AA playoffs on Friday.
Weddington, seeded seventh, has won a school-record 11 games and reached the third round for the first time in the school's 14-year history.
Black scored on a 27-yard jet sweep with 9:32 left in the fourth quarter to put his team up for good at 14-10.
Black also caught a 7-yard TD pass from Jeff Welch with 7:23 left in the second quarter to tie the game at 7.
Asheville (10-3) got a field goal right before the half to take a 10-7 lead into halftime.
The Warriors (11-2) play at Northern Guilford in the state quarterfinal round next Friday.
