Junior Xavier Bivens knocked in freshman Tyler Mullis with a two-out single in the bottom of the eighth inning to give Forest Hills High a thrilling 7-6 home win over Porter Ridge on Thursday.

The 2A Yellow Jackets improved to 3-0 on the season, and now have two wins over 4A schools.

Senior Rashad Bivens went 4-for-4 with three doubles and also had an RBI and a run scored. He's now batting .667 (6-for-9) through three games.

Sophomore David Nash picked up the win, improving his record to 2-0 on the season.  Nash took over on the mound in the fourth inning and finished the game, holding the Pirates to one run on four hits and striking out five.

Nash threw a one-hitter against Porter Ridge as a freshman.

Forest Hills was scheduled to host Union Academy on Friday, but the game has been postponed due to "wet field conditions," according to FH coach Cory Smith.

The Jackets host West Stanly on Tuesday in a Rocky River Conference matchup. Forest Hills is 1-0 in the league.
