Nation Ford scored three times in the first inning and cruised to a 5-0 win over Forest Hills in the fifth-place game of the Griffin-Toxey Classic baseball tournament on Wednesday.
The Falcons improved their record to 14-3 on the season after having their five-game winning streak snapped in a 3-2 loss to Porter Ridge on Monday.
Forest Hills dropped to 4-8.
The Jackets struggled to hit the ball in the tournament. They had just two hits in two games.
Xavier Bivens' double down the third base line with one out in the bottom of the third inning was the Jackets' only offense on Wednesday. The other three FH base runners reached on walks.
Dalton Helms got the win for the Falcons, while David Nash (2-2) took the loss for Forest Hills. The Jackets struggled defensively with eight errors.
Reliever Tucker Smith, a senior lefty, was a bright spot for the Jackets. Smith pitched the final two innings and faced the minimum while striking out three.
Both teams have the rest of the week off before returning to action next Tuesday, when Forest Hills hosts Union Academy and Nation Ford plays at home against Northwestern.
