Redhawks rip Parkwood, 46-7

Byrum, Wynn combine for four touchdowns

Chase Byrum led an explosive Monroe High running attack in a 46-7 road win over Parkwood on Friday.
Byrum, a junior tailback, finished with 20 carries for 135 yards and two touchdowns. His scoring runs were from 41 and 24 yards out.
The Redhawks racked up 271 yards on the ground. Senior Tre Shun Wynn added 86 yards and two touchdowns on just seven attempts.
Monroe led 18-0 at halftime and was never threatened.
The Redhawks improved to 7-2 overall and 3-0 in the Rocky River Conference, while the Rebels fell to 4-5 overall and 1-2 in the league.
Sophomore tailback Tre Butler scored Parkwood's lone TD on a five-yard run in the final minute.

Both teams are back in action next Friday, when Monroe plays at West Stanly and Parkwood travels to Mount Pleasant.
