Piedmont whips West Stanly, 48-0

Cameron Tripp threw for two touchdowns and rushed for another and Aaron Braswell scored three TDs while Piedmont's defense earned its first shutout since 2010. UPDATED.

Rebels run all over Cherryville

Spartans pull out thrilling 48-47 win at Monroe

Jeremiah Miller and Albert Funderburke scored three touchdowns each to lead Sun Valley High to an exciting win over Monroe. The Spartans trailed by 12 points in the third quarter before raillying for the win. Sophomore QB Demarco Reaves threw three TD passes for the Sun Valley, including the game-winner to Miller from 40 yards out with 29 seconds left in the game on a third and 15 play.

Inuwa repeats as county champion

Central Academy's Elijah Inuwa won the 2014 Union County cross country meet again, this time in a career-best time of 15:52.8. Weddington's boys and Marvin Ridge's girls cruised to the team titles.
